Operations Manager



We currently have an excellent opportunity for our client to identify an Operations Manager.



Our client is a specialist within the steel manufacturing sector that provides specialist steel equipment to the communications industry. They have been in operation for over 20 years & have a global client base. To be considered you will need to be a capable Operations Manager, with a proven track record of working in a steel products OEM (original equipment manufacturer), have strong man management skills and experience of compliance with and introducing disciplines and structure to comply with quality systems (specifically ISO9001:2008). It would be advantageous but not essential to have come through a technical apprenticeship route



As a manager you will need to have a tough character, in as far as there is no one below you that will be looking to support you and those above will be looking for you to perform.



You will of course need to be proficient enough in Engineering to stand your ground, not have the wool pulled over your eyes and to be able to 'talk the language' e.g. communicate effectively and authoritatively (to ensure you gain peoples respect) with time served mechanical engineering staff.



This is an excellent opportunity as there is a definite route to Directorship (if not at Director calibre already).
